Dr Carl Tidemann, Senior Researcher at the Climate Council will be presenting the key findings and recommendations of the recently released report ‘Switch and Save: How gas is costing households’. Dr Carl will also talk about the award winning ‘Home Appliance Savings Calculator’ online tool created to accompany the release of the report as well as future planned work on energy efficiency in homes and buildings.

In 2021 Merri-bek City Council (formerly Moreland City Council, VIC) launched its Electrify Everything: Communications Message Guide for Households. An Australian-first, the guide is based on qualitative market research undertaken to inform the electrification communications campaign for homes. Merri-bek is now leading a Community of Practice with over 80 local council officers focused on communicating the importance of electrification for Australia’s energy transition and how households can get involved.read more
The Energy Support Program complements Onkaparinga’s Green Buildings Initiative which aims to reduce energy and water use, waste to landfill and greenhouse gas emissions from all council owned buildings over time and is an integral part of our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint.read more
‘Plug In’ is a newly launched website from Energy Consumers Australia designed to support consumers as they buy, install and use clean energy tech like solar, batteries and EVs.
The website includes step-by-step guides on topics such as installing and maximising the benefits of home solar, how to choose a battery retailer, how to charge your electric vehicle, and more. We’ve worked closely with subject matter experts to make content that is accessible, credible, and free of commercial influence.
