Adelaide Hills Council aims to be progressive and proactive with its approach to preparing climate-ready communities. We have committed to this formally through our Strategic Plan, and through our involvement in the Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island Region. We see our decision to join the Cities Power Partnership as yet another step towards building greener, more efficient, and more resilient Hills communities.
Our city has had great successes in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects through our Energy Saving Action Plan and we hope for many more great achievements through our involvement in the Cities Power Partnership.
Action is needed at the global, national and local level to tackle the challenges of climate change. Alexandrina Council has joined the Cities Power Partnership because we are committed to playing our part but we also have a lot to learn. We look forward to being inspired by the clean energy successes of our Cities Power Partners.
Alice Springs Town Council has long been a leader in renewable energy and climate action. Council was the first Northern Territory member of the Cities for Climate Protection Program in 1998, and adopted its Local Action Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Alice Springs in 2006.

Joining Cities Power Partnership gives Bathurst Regional Council an opportunity to showcase the work we are doing at a local level to embrace energy efficiency, deliver energy savings to the local community and reduce Council’s carbon emissions. It also provides Council with opportunities to learn from other Councils and from experts in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.
