Climate Summit for Local Government

Sept 6-8, 2023 | Melbourne

The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), to be released on February 28, takes a look at the latest science on climate change – what impacts are already locked in, which communities and ecosystems are most vulnerable, and what the world must do to adapt to a rapidly changing climate and protect the lives and landscapes we hold most dear.

Join us on Thursday the 3rd of March at 2:00pm AEDT as Professor Lesley Hughes breaks down the findings from the latest IPCC report, and what it means for Australian local governments and communities.

Speaker:

Professor Lesley Hughes is a Distinguished Professor of Biology and the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Integrity and Development) at Macquarie University in NSW. She is a former federal Climate Commissioner and former Lead Author in the IPCC’s 4th and 5th Assessment Report.
