Planning shapes our land use decisions, delivers infrastructure, protects our natural environments and creates resilient and safe local communities. Our planning systems are too powerful to leave out of the equation when it comes to fighting the climate crisis.
Audrey Marsh from the Planning Institute of Australia unpacks the interconnected world of local planning and discover a blueprint for delivering climate action through planning systems.
Her presentation addressed how the following can help accelerate climate action:
- strategic planning
- urban design
- precinct planning
- development assessment frameworks
