ONKAPARINGA will become the first South Australian council to join the Climate Council’s cities power partnership. It joins a network of councils across Australia committing to tackling climate change by pledging to cut transport emissions and increase the uptake of renewable energy. Mayor Lorraine Rosenberg said joining the partnership made the southern suburbs council “part of a national solution”.
The Local Government Association will next week host a roundtable on how councils can improve energy efficiency.
