Join us as we learn how the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) is spearheading a groundbreaking EV fleet pilot project with 22 Local Governments representing a whopping 58% of the state’s population.
This initiative is designed to fast-track the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) by ingeniously uniting the needs of both smaller regional shires and larger metropolitan councils through a bulk procurement process that ensures maximum value for money. The project will also establish a knowledge hub to build capacity and help streamline the full sector’s transition to EVs.
Proof of concept is critical in regional areas to drive the transition, and WALGA recently completed an EV tour to engage with Local Governments in the Great Northern region of the State.
We’ll hear from WALGA’s Environmental Policy Officer Melanie Davis, as she unveils the benefits that have already materialised from WALGA’s EV projects and the rollout of charging infrastructure set for 2024.
Melanie will delve into how the data on use of charging infrastructure will inform adaptive management and the State Government’s energy policy development.
We’ll also hear from the City of Stirling, one of the local councils involved in this project to learn how this program is assisting their organisation to electrify its fleet.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge on this unique program involving both regional and metropolitan councils utilising the power of collaborative effort to drive a sustainable and cost effective EV fleet transformation.
