Join us on Thursday the 18th of August at 11am AEST (10:30am SA time) for a 1 hour special edition Q&A session regarding the GreenPower review that is currently underway, but closing soon.
Members of the Electricity Working Group of South Australian Councils will give us a breakdown of the issues at hand, why it is so important to councils, and what we can all do to ensure the best outcome for the future of buying renewable energy for Australian local governments.
Background information:
GreenPower has been the obvious way for many councils to buy renewable energy.
The National GreenPower Steering Group is currently conducting its first public review in seven years of the GreenPower Accreditation Program, giving local governments the chance to voice concerns and make suggestions to improve the program by way of making submissions. The deadline for submissions has now been extended until 5 September for Councils (22 August for general stakeholders).
It’s important for local governments to understand and advocate for GreenPower reforms so that accredited renewable electricity purchased from the grid can be legally defined and fairly priced for all customers.
This session will be a presentation of the key issues concerning councils and an open forum for questions and discussion.
