Climate Summit for Local Government

Sept 6-8, 2023 | Melbourne

Held on Tuesday, March 30 at 2:30pm AEDT. In our March webinar, we heard from councils and experts leading the way in establishing and maintaining Revolving Green Funds. A Green Revolving Fund is an innovative funding model that establishes an internal capital pool dedicated to funding energy efficiency, renewable energy, and/or sustainability projects that generate cost savings. Many councils have made huge emission reduction inroads using this model. Please contact Barbara at Barbara@100percentrenewables.com.au for a copy of the tool.

This webinar covered the process of setting them up, the types of projects that can be funded, challenges and lessons learned. We also learn about a unique Excel tool funded by the NSW Government to model outcomes, now available free to all councils. Please contact Barbara at Barbara@100percentrenewables.com.au for a copy of the tool.

Speakers:

  • Barbara Albert, CEO, 100% Renewables. Barbara specialises in developing climate action strategies for local governments, including rolling out Green Revolving Funds.
  • Rob Morrison, Program Leader for Waste and Sustainability and Sustainability Advisor at Blue Mountains City Council. Blue Mountains City Council has implemented a number of emissions reduction projects and is well on its way to achieving net zero emissions from operations by 2025. An instrumental part of this reduction has been the establishment of the Council’s award-winning Carbon Revolving Reserve which ensured these projects were viable.
