Buildings account for over 50% of electricity use in Australia and almost a quarter of its emissions. Smart, targeted policies developed in partnership with industry can drive the step change we need to deliver a low carbon built environment.
The following plans outline practical policies across residential, commercial and public buildings that should be implemented by federal, state and territory and local governments to drive emissions reduction in line with Australia’s Paris Agreement commitments.
