Melbourne’s Climate Change Mitigation Strategy to 2050: Melbourne Together for 1.5°C was published in December 2018. It is compliant with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, and has four strategic priorities: 100% renewable energy, zero emissions buildings and precincts, zero emissions transport, and reducing the impact of waste. The mitigation strategy sits alongside the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy Refresh, released in 2017, which details how Melbourne plans to adapt to climate change.
