A science-based climate action plan (CAP) is a critical asset for any city seeking to limit global heating and adapt to its effects. But creating and updating CAPs can be resource intensive or even daunting.
To help, the C40 Knowledge Hub is releasing the first part of a comprehensive guide that will support every city to create — or improve — their own CAP.
The Climate Action Planning Guide captures learning from cities already developing or implementing a CAP as well as tried-and-tested planning tools and frameworks that can be used by cities everywhere. They cover how to establish structures for good climate governance and internal collaboration, stakeholder and community engagement, building the evidence base, and identifying effective mitigation and adaptation strategies.
