Scope X emissions, the climate emergency and Fossil Ad Ban
As we know, fossil fuel sponsorships of sports and community groups and fossil fuel advertising are coming under increasing scrutiny in Australia and overseas. Belinda will take us through the reasons she started the Fossil Ad Ban campaign, which councils have voted for a ban so far, and the next steps of the campaign.
Belinda will also cover the concept of advertised, or ‘Scope X’ emissions, how they fit into climate plans, and the reputational risks of partnering with coal, oil or gas companies.

Belinda spent 20 years in TV news, working as a reporter and supervising producer in Australia and overseas before moving into corporate communications and PR. She founded Comms Declare which is now running the Fossil Ad Ban campaign. She has a Masters in Leadership, a Graduate Diploma in Management, a BA in Communications and accreditations in public consultation, emergency management and customer experience.
