Climate Summit for Local Government

Sept 6-8, 2023 | Melbourne

RESIDENTS have been asked to have their say on how they would like to save power. Orange City Council joined the Climate Council Cities Power Partnership in October and councillor Stephen Nugent moved to ask ratepayers which five pledges the council should make across the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, transport and advocacy. The environmental sustainability committee will also be asked to make recommendations. Report will come back to the council in February and April. The program will give the council access to an analytics tool, allowing greenhouse gas emissions, energy and financial savings to be tracked and measured.
